Episode 6: She Was the One Who Promised Forever… Then Became the Storm He Never Saw Coming

July 16, 2025by Familynest0

Let me tell you about my friend. Let’s call him Tunde.

You know those men that make you believe good guys still exist?
Soft-spoken. Intelligent. Faithful. Family-oriented.
He wasn’t flashy, but he was consistent.

He met her, let’s call her Amaka during NYSC.
Sharp babe. Beauty + brains. She knew how to carry herself.
Everyone called them the power couple. They served in church together, organized outreaches, even taught marriage classes while still engaged.

Wedding was a dream.
Marriage? Hmm… the first year was sweet. She’d call him “my king,” pack his lunch, post appreciation messages every Friday.

But by year two… everything changed.

She started getting irritated by everything.
“Why do you breathe like that?”
“Your job is boring.”
“You’re not ambitious enough.”
“You don’t even dress like a real man.”

Tunde tried. God knows he did.

He started buying new clothes.
He took a side hustle just to “look more successful.”
He even booked marriage counseling.

But nothing worked because Amaka had already emotionally checked out.

🧨 The Turning Point?

He found out she was texting her ex.

Late nights. Deleting messages. Hiding her phone.

And one night, by sheer accident, he saw it.

“If I didn’t marry him, I’d have married you. I still think about us. I miss what we had…”

That thing shattered Tunde.

He wasn’t perfect but he was loyal.
He wasn’t rich but he was responsible.
He wasn’t a player but he was steady.

And she treated his faithfulness like a burden.

🥶 And when he confronted her?

She said,

“I just feel trapped. You’re a good guy, but maybe you’re just not enough for me.”

😳 Not enough?

The same man who carried the marriage on his back like Jacob carried Rachel’s love for 14 years?

The man who covered her when she lost her job… and prayed for her when she lost her mum?

But see, some people don’t need a savior.
They want an adrenaline rush, not a covenant.
And when peace feels boring to them… they self-sabotage.

📖 Scripture:

“A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.”
— Proverbs 14:1

💭 Reality Check:

Sometimes, it’s not the man.
Sometimes, the woman has trauma she never addressed, expectations she never voiced, or comparison issues she never healed from.

Amaka thought she was “settling.”
But what she didn’t know was… she was breaking the one person who loved her most.

🔁 What Happened Next?

Tunde didn’t shout.
He didn’t retaliate.
He left with peace in his heart and tears in his eyes.

He’s doing better now; healing, learning, growing.
And guess who started texting him again six months later?

Yup. Her.

But this time… he didn’t respond.

💬 Real Talk:

Have you ever seen a woman destroy what she begged God to give her?

Let’s talk. Drop a 💔 if you’ve ever loved someone who didn’t know what they had.
