Could it be your child? Or you who is playing the novice?
She spoke up, but silence was chosen over safety.
They said they were protecting the family name.
But what they protected… was the predator.
She tried to tell.
She whispered it through trembling lips.
But instead of protection, she got dismissal.
Her mother said, “Don’t say such things. What will people think?”
Her father said, “Uncle John? He would never…”
And she was left alone; with her pain and her shame.
That’s the story of too many families.
Where image becomes the idol and innocence becomes the sacrifice.
🚨 Here’s the Truth:
Covering abuse doesn’t save a family. It sinks it.
That child you silenced becomes a teenager battling anxiety…
A wife struggling with sexual dysfunction…
A man confused about his worth.
Because silence doesn’t erase pain, it breeds it.
And what’s never acknowledged is never healed.
📖 Scripture Reflection
“It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.” — Luke 17:2 (NIV)
Jesus didn’t speak lightly about hurting children.
And neither should we.
❤️ For the Survivors
If this was your story, I want you to know:
God still sees you.
Healing is possible.
And your silence can turn into a song of freedom.
🛠 What Families Must Do:
• Create safe spaces for children to speak.
• Believe them, even when it’s inconvenient.
• Seek help; spiritually and professionally.
• Confront, don’t cover. Report, don’t repress.
📌 It’s time to end the culture of “cover it up.”
Families aren’t meant to wear masks.
They’re meant to be healing centres.
🕊 Share this with someone who needs to break the silence.
Don’t let an abused child go unheard around you. Don’t add to her trauma. Be her safe-place, her hope route or at least her confidante.
